Baby bath & diapering
Bath time and diaper changes are the two things you will do most in the first year, so the gear is worth getting right once. This collection covers the tubs that hold a newborn safely before they can sit up, grooming kits with the nail file and comb you will otherwise hunt for at 2am, a nasal aspirator for the first cold, and the diaper pail and wipe warmer that make the changing table less miserable.
Newborns do not need a daily bath. Two or three times a week is plenty until they are crawling, and sponge baths are the norm until the umbilical stump falls off. Most of what is here is about making those few baths calmer rather than adding steps to your day.
